What is hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a natural and organic process of tapping into the power of your own mind to achieve your self-improvement goals.  Many people think of hypnotherapy only for use with habits such as stop smoking or losing weight.  While it certainly is good for those, it is practically limitless in personal applications.

As a Hypnotherapist, I work with an almost endless array of personal achievement goals.  If you are working with another counseling professional already or have goals beyond personal self-improvement then I may ask for a referral from the appropriate psychology professional.

What is hypnosis

Hypnosis is a focused state of awareness enabling a very suggestive state. It is a state where the person is awake and aware but also very relaxed and comfortable while the mind remains alert and receptive to positive changes.

We all experience hypnosis during the day, it is a very natural state. Some say it is almost like ‘daydreaming’, where one can concentrate intensely on a specific thought, task, memory, or sensation while blocking out distractions.

Hypnosis is a tool to bypass the critical mind so that the suggestions can be accepted and become a new behavior.
